Nation Rebuilding Program: selected projects 2022 to 2023

The Nation Rebuilding program has issued funding of over $13.8 million to 30 projects and multi-year project phases in the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year.

Proposals were assessed using the terms and conditions and eligibility criteria for the program and those judged to best fit the objectives of the program were approved for funding.

The selected projects supported nation rebuilding efforts contributing to the rebuilding of Indigenous nations. As well as restoration of historic relationships and ties between Indigenous communities to increase capacity at the larger nation level. This was accomplished through various activities such as:

For various reasons, some funding applicants were unable to expend the full amount of funding provided in the previous fiscal year(s) and have received approval to make use of unspent funds to support 2022-23 activities, reducing or replacing the need for additional new funding. The amounts below include new funding for 2022-23 only, and do not include funds brought forward from previous years of approximately $5 million.
